How to block calls on your Android phone
Several times in a day you try hard to block those unwanted and disturbing phone numbers which are of no use to you. Those numbers may be of some Insurance Companies,Banks selling some credit cards or any other individual who is simply calling you frequently and disturbing you during your important work schedule. Today we will guide you as to how can you block annoying numbers and get rid of this irritation easily. We will discuss about a few Android devices here. .
Samsung (Galaxy S4, S5, S6, Note 4)
If you want to block all the calls from some individual:
Tap Phone app, Call Log, and then search the number which you want to block.
Next, you should tap More at right side top, Add to the list of auto reject
If you want to reverse this, you should follow the same process and tap remove.
Galaxy S6 Touch Wiz dialer call log reject 2
The process is same for Galaxy S6 model too however, there is something more in that. Suppose you want to block some unknown numbers, you have to tap on more and go for settings. After that you tap on Call rejection> auto reject list. You will notice that all the numbers are auto rejected.
You can also do it manually, for removing some number from your list. You have to simple tap OFF switch next to that unknown number.
Here you can manually remove and add numbers to the list, or block all unknown numbers by tapping the ‘off’ switch next to Unknown..
Stock Android Lollipop (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Moto X, Moto G)
As a matter of fact Stock does not have the integrated system of call-blocking in it. It depends on the carrier. If you want to check you should open the phone app, then tap that number which you to block, tap for its detail. If your phone is having phone blocking then it will appear as Add to Blacklist or it will be Reject call.
I will tell you there is a sort of workaround for the users of Lollypop.
You have to first, save that number which you want to block.
Next step is to go to Phone app, Contacts, tap the name.
Then you should tap pencil icon which is next to menu icon, then on next screen tap menu icon at top right and all calls to voicemail.
It is very surprising that stock Lollipops do not allow you to block the calls. But there is Call Blocker option on some stock; if you do not have that then you should divert them to Voice call
The other alternate is to install a Call Blocker app on your device..
HTC (One M7, One M8, One M9)
This model is like Samsung, but HTC has made it easier. If you want to block calls which are coming from specific number on HTC phone:
Go to Phone app, then Call History or you can tap search icon to find out number which is to be blocked. Then you should long-tap that number, after that tap BLOCK.
Long-tap the number you want to block, then tap Block caller.
The HTC One M9 makes it easy to block calls to your device. Just long-tap an unwanted number, then tap ‘Block caller’.
Sony (Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact)
The Xperia Z-series actually doesn’t have feature in-built for call blocking, so either download the Calls Blacklist and or send the unwanted numbers to voicemail.
