Fingerprint Security in Nexus Imprint
This is an excellent advancement in phone security especially to those who need security as the top most priority in their phone. The new Nexus Imprint gives you a convenient way to protect your phone with your finger print. Currently, all the android smart phones are protected by screen lock features. But this extremely secure technology will help to keep your device safe and secure.
One of the most attractive features in Nexus Imprint is that it learns your finger print in less than 600 milliseconds. This feature is an extra add-on to the Google’s previous release Nexus 5X. Not only these two phones include some of the fastest finger print sensor in the market, but the act of registering the finger prints is fastest in the industry.
The sensor catches six simultaneous images of the finger to make the entire finger print, which is enough to cover the entire finger print effectively. As per the Google resources, they are using high end soft computing learning algorithms which increases efficiency of the device. Google has also asserted that this method of security may be less secure as compared to a strong PIN or a password as a physical copy of the finger print can unlock the phone.
Google has also released some strict guidelines of how the fingerprint data is stored in the device. They are using a secured Execution Environment with limited sensor hardware access. Only the encrypted form of the fingerprint data is stored on the local file system of the device. The fingerprint data is removed automatically when the device user is removed.
Google claims that the finger print data will never be shared. Google also assures that the fingerprint data never leaves the devices and gets backed up on the computer or on the cloud. This data never goes to the Google servers in any form. The fingerprint data is never shared with any app. The apps cannot access the fingerprint data or the related hardware.
